Back to School and My Friends

So things since I’ve been back at school have been pretty interesting.  I left home early so I could go to Stern Center and get a box of stuff I left in there and my laundry basket.  I ended up going through and talking to Bethany about the new version of “the Compass” which is at least 10 pages shorter than last year’s which is pretty exciting.  I am yet to read through it carefully though, so I need to really get to that.

Anyways, at around 6, I went over to Calhoun Annex and found Geoff at his desk at CofC Radio.  He was chilling and gave me a nice little tour of the changes they made to all of the media stuff in the Annex.  Grace and one of her friends came up to say hi after she found the Annex.  She walked straight past it.  Geoff came with me afterwards and I moved my car across the street from Kelly House.  We went in to get my key and started moving stuff in.  It was great to have Geoff’s help, because there was so much stuff.  After that, we decided to go get dinner.

We were walking down St. Philip towards Calhoun when I got a call from Kyle asking if we wanted to hang out with Dorian.  Since I had the car still, we went to JI and picked him up to go have some dinner.  We ended up parking over by where Five Guys is going kind of.  We decided to go to Mellow Mushroom and me and Geoff got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza (yeah, I don’t keep kosher, sorry) while Kyle got a salad (he was complaining about his weight).  I ended up seeing Jackson and Noelle there, which was cool, because I had just gotten back to town.

Since then, I’ve been pretty much chilling in the room with Dan.  Yesterday, we had a bunch of people over for pizza.  To prepare for this, me and Dan went to Harris-Teeter.  We bought so much stuff we could barely carry it all, so I stopped at the hardware store.  They had a grocery cart, but it was $100.  Being the spendthrift I am (someone else called me a Jew instead, but that seems too offensive to use on here) I bought a $20 rolling garbage can that I can reuse.  Dan and I brought the grocery back on King St. in a rolling garbage can.  Lots of little kids seemed to wonder what we were doing which made things funny.  So many people were in my room once we were eating pizza  I ended up taking the air mattress downstairs so it could be used as a couch.  After almost everyone left, the remaining folks and the Pelin who had just gotten there went on an adventure to waterfront park.  Andrew decided to claim to be Casper which was interesting.  Dan and him were acting quite flamboyant and gave all of us a good bit of entertainment while I’m pretty sure confusing Pelin.

Once we got down to the waterfront, me and Pelin sat down on a bench while the rest of group continued walking around.  Andrew then “found us” and the rest of the group followed.  By this point Pelin was tired so I walked her back.  That was the end of a long and tiring day to say the least.

Today was Georgestock.  Beyond that I really didn’t do much today.  I slept in until 10 or so, and then at around 12 went to Liberty for the first time this year.  I wish the round tables in there were bigger, because we had a pretty big group, but I guess next time we won’t sit at a round one (hooray for logic).

For those of you who are familiar with what is going on, my mom’s surgery was Thursday and was very successful.  The doctor’s told my dad that it looked pretty unlikely that the cancer had spread, so we were very happy.  I spoke to her today and she sounded a little groggy, but still pretty good.  Lots of painkillers still I think.

Anyways, so long for now.
