Kickball for a Cause

So today I am still sick.  It is a sinus infection and I am on antibiotics.  My nose is all stuff and every so often I cough and it hurts my throat, but whatever, it is all part of being sick.  Things aren’t too bad here beyond that.  I’m about half way done with the book that I’m reading and figure I’ll finish it this weekend.

Now, I want to get on to what the purpose of this entry truly is.  I was talking to a friend of mine, Vern Holton about random stuff.  I used to play sports and somehow we got into a conversation about kickball and we came up with some really cool ideas.  One of the ideas was to go to CRS and try and start a kickball league.  I don’t know if there is one at CofC yet as CRS organizations are not required to register with the SGA (Alex Hoang let me know that there is a CofC intramural team).  Another idea would be to create a kickball tournament.  Just like SAA does trivia, why couldn’t a bunch of independent people create a kickball tournament and invite organizations from all around he college to register teams with proceeds going to a charitable cause in the Charleston area like Low County Food bank.  This event to me seems like a completely possible event, but it can’t be done obviously if there isn’t enough interest.  If enough organizations register, we could make it into something like an all night kickball tournament, sort of a kickball version of Dance Marathon and Relay for Life.  An event that could be this large would take a ton of planning, so I need all the help I can get.  If you have any interest, please contact me by email, cell phone, a comment on this entry, join the interest group on facebook or anything like that.  Together, we can make this happen!
