My Summer So Far

This is quite the summer already.  After school ended, I stayed in my dorm after everyone had left so I could go to LeaderShape.  I had written a whole entry about LeaderShape, but for whatever reason my Internet got messed up and lost the entry, so this is one of my first entries in a while it would appear.  LeaderShape was an experience I will probably never forget.  It was a safe environment where I saw one of my best friends break out of his shell (Dan) and I grew to understand the college on a completely new level.  My vision is to unite all of the organizations at the college, big and small, and I think LeaderShape gave me the confidence that I can achieve this goal, or at least make steps in the direction of unification.

After LeaderShape was over, I returned to Downtown for a couple days.  I stayed in Warren Place for a bit and worked along with Elliot, Isaiah, and John to create mission statements for SGA for the upcoming year and clean out the office.  We went on John’s friend’s boat (Conor) and sat together discussing the issues, the direction of SGA, and how we as an organization can have the biggest and most positive change on the student body.  I am confident that we will accomplish a great deal next year.

Wednesday it was time to go home.  Read the entry before this to hear about what happened with that, because I don’t feel the need to recap that.  When I got back to Atlanta finally, I had a couple days to recover before camp orientation (or for me I worked vacation camp).  Vacation camp was a good time as always.  Last Sunday was open house for camp and I met my awesome co-counselor Darren.  All other camp groups are jealous not to me or Darren, no lie.  Our campers can be tough sometimes, but boy do we have fun with them.  I came in Monday with the idea of making a week for our campers themed on boats.  Boat related cheers followed and counselor “I’m On a Boat” jokes continued throughout the week.  Me and Darren wanted to rewrite the song and Darren came up with the idea to make a music video and got approval from Rachel to make “I’m On A Boat” which we are in the process of filming.  Next week our campers are going to be on the Mighty Ducks for our theme which should be exciting.

Anyways, until later, peace out!
