So yesterday, in celebration of a great first semester, SGA Executive Board had a nice dinner at Aromas.\u00a0 The food was good, the service was good, and the prices were pretty low.\u00a0 I was impressed with how cheap everything was.\u00a0 It was nice to spend some time with most of the board (Dan was already at the game because he is in Pep Band and Katie was in Charlotte) and really be happy about all of our accomplishments.\u00a0 It was sad on the same measure, because Shea will be going to abroad next semester.<\/p>\n
After that was over, me and Will moved his car and we went to the CofC Game.\u00a0 It was already halftime and we were down by 3 points at halftime.\u00a0 I was pretty confident we could win and we did.\u00a0 The battle on the boards as always was pretty important, but more than anything, ball handling was the real difference maker.\u00a0 Georgia State was running a full court version of the trap that we run, a staple from the defenses of Bobby Cremins’s Georgia Tech teams.\u00a0 We were lucky to have good ball handling from Andrew Goudelock, Tony White Jr, and Donvon Monroe.\u00a0 Willis Hall came in late in the game and was instrumental in breaking the full court press on a team that had some difficulty matching up against him.\u00a0 Jeremy Simmons was a beast, bringing down 13 rebounds and 5 shots as well as 10 points.\u00a0 Simmons has really stepped up his game in the absence of Antwaine Wiggins, averaging just under a double double with 14.3 points a game and 9.7 rebounds.\u00a0 We are 2-3 so far this year, but I am confident that we have a shot this year in being a real force in the Southern Conference.<\/p>\n
