So like a week or two ago I tried ot add Andre Bauer on LinkedIn<\/a>.\u00a0 Today he accepted my connection and sent me an interesting message:<\/p>\n

I am launching a new initiative with students like you. We desperately need young leaders right now to speak to their hopes and dreams; student leaders to inspire others; and student leaders who can help their fellow students. We need a new hope to help us feel that we as a state together can achieve anything<\/p>\n

Would you like to take part? The South Carolina Collegiate Summit wil take place in the next few months and I would life CofC to have a strong presence @ the Summit.<\/p>\n

I wonder what exactly Bauer would have to say to the Student Governments around the state.\u00a0 I know that our incoming Treasurer Elliot Dickerson spoke to him in the past about trying to refund the PASCAL<\/a>, which lost 90% of its budget.\u00a0 The CofC state budget was cut significantly by the state in the last year along with all the other public colleges and universities around the state.<\/p>\n

What kind of things would be important to you for me to talk to Andre Bauer about specifically?\u00a0 What are state issues that we want to improve on that Mr. Bauer may not realize?\u00a0 I want your input on what to talk about and if I should even talk to him about going.\u00a0 I think this would be a great opportunity for the students at the college to be represented at a higher level.<\/p>\n

So at camp today we (3-6b that is) celebrated Duck Day.\u00a0 Duck Day is nearly identical to Zebra Day, but with ducks.\u00a0 There were rubber ducks all around camp from activity to activity with clues to lead the way.\u00a0 The day ended with Golden Oreos as a special duck color treat.<\/p>\n

After camp, we had a brief staff meeting and me, Fender, and Reuben reunited at Taco Bell.\u00a0 When I got home, my dad was flustered after attempting to set up a password protected version of our current network.\u00a0 Furious would not begin to describe my father’s demeanor upon entering my home.\u00a0 His disgust came out clearly as he as always threatened to,&quot;Throw the damn thing out the window.&quot;\u00a0 Thankfully, cooler minds prevailed and a nice young man from a call center in Bangalore was able to take me through the steps and fix it.\u00a0 Hooray for not throwing anything out the window!\u00a0 Tomorrow is water day at camp and we are allowed to wear sandals, but not flip flops which seemed to confuse about 75% of our staff or so.\u00a0 Hmmmm, stealing dad’s knockoff tevas tomorrow sounds like a plan to me.\u00a0 I prefer them over wet sneakers for the next day.<\/p>\n
