So far, this weekend has been pretty uneventful.\u00a0 I will be going later tonight to Suburban Tap Trivia with Michael later today which should be fun.\u00a0 It’s a good thing I have he weekend, because I certainly need the rest before the week of color war which is sure to be an exciting and exhausting week.\u00a0 Can’t wait for the upcoming week.\u00a0 Tuesday I am going with my dad to Turner Field to see the Yankees and Braves play and I can’t wait!\u00a0 It is going to be a great game.<\/p>\n
A close friend of mine asked me why when talking about Iran on my blog I hadn’t taken a stance, so I guess I will use this entry to explain what I am thinking.\u00a0 The Iranian government is unstable right now.\u00a0 Unlike in an American election, there wasn’t a smooth election process (for this, let’s just forget about Bush v. Gore, okay?).\u00a0 Statements by opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi indicate an expectation of an escalation of violence and even the possibility of his own arrest.\u00a0 This situation to me SCREAMS revolution.\u00a0 As much as I believe revolution in Iran is necessary for the long-term for stability of the region, it is also of the utmost importance that the US is not a catalyst of said revolution.\u00a0 Some have criticized Barack Obama for not speaking on either side with much strength on the situation in Iran.\u00a0 Based on recent history, the position taken by Obama was the smartest he could have taken. \u00a0 Anything that could show even an iota of US involvement in a revolution in Iran could cause the exact same situation as in Iraq.\u00a0 The US in my opinion should verbally encourage revolution to all nations\/states that see it necessary for the future of their nation.\u00a0 It is time for the US to take the backseat and not have involvement in this problem, because all the interaction seems to do is cause a global hatred for the US.\u00a0 There is more to this earth than American interests and we must consider this in all things we do on a global level.\u00a0 American interests are important, but we must not do things just because of this.\u00a0 We as a nation must remember that other nations are groups of people just as we are.\u00a0 There is no sense to hate another people.\u00a0 Hate is only destructive and not an effective method of dealing with any problem, big or small.\u00a0 We can only hope that we will see a future without Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, because rather than leading, he is oppressing the people of Iran and taking away the rights they deserve.\u00a0 I want revolution, but it must come from with in; stemming from anywhere else would not be the revolution they need, but instead the ammo needed to remain the same.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
